Swedish massage program
The program - consists of a combination of on-line bookwork, focusing on technique, body mechanics, and sequence within the scope of Swedish massage. During the hands on portion of the program you will hear an easy-to-follow lecture, see a step-by-step demonstration, you are then expected to practice on your friends and family. Also covered - the importance of being physically strong. After the completion of this program you will have enough information to practice Swedish massage on your friends and family.

Massage and bodywork assessment, theory and application
Within the scope of Swedish massage - techniques and strokes - compression, palming, cupping, flicking, friction, gliding, hair pulling, jostling, kneading, percussion, pinching, rocking, shaking, traction, and vibration. Stretching and lengthening of the muscles and their groups involving joint movement for full range of motion, assisted and unassisted static stretching, passive stretching for the purpose of reducing muscle cramping, which benefits both client and therapist. Included in this level ; introduction for the basics of Pregnancy massage.

Ethics and business practices
Code of ethics, standards, scope of practice with the requirements of massage therapy, the importance of client confidentiality and the basic psychological and physical dynamics of practitioner- client relationships. Legal and ethical parameter of scope of practice, planning strategies for single and multiple sessions, and session record keeping practices. How to build your practice and have return clients emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, breathing and nutrition. Lessons in grace, hygiene, and personal attributes, stance and body movement.
Anatomy, physiology and kinesiology
Anatomical direction, planes of division and body cavities. General knowledge of the ten body systems and processes through the study of anatomy and physiology and its correlation with massage therapy. Standard Deviants Anatomy 1 and 2, chemistry 1 DVD's, Trail guide text and workbook series will be utilized for the at home work. First Aid and CPR requirements are defined.
Pathology
Medical terminology, signs and symptoms of disease, psychological and emotional states (depression, anxiety, grief), effects of physical and emotional abuse and trauma, and factors of/alleviation of disease (biological, psychological, environmental). Modes of contagious disease transmission (blood, saliva), effects of life stages (childhood, adolescence, and geriatric), indications, contraindications and cautions for massage therapy, the principles of acute chronic conditions and the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Externship
Each student is required to keep track of his or her at-home completed work. Proper forms with logged hours will need to be turned in before taking the on-line open book final exam. Email forms to deanna@tsotm.com
Final exam
The open book final exam is completed on-line and consists of true/false and multiple choice questions. All questions are highlighted and discussed throughout the program.
